Our story begins with a swipe right on the dating app Bumble. Yep, two fifty something’s found each other on the magical world of the internet – who would have thought that stuff actually works. Gary’s profile said he wanted to retire early and move to the tropics. My profile said my dream was to live on a sailboat. Ok back up a minute, why would a woman from land-locked Wyoming want to live on a sailboat? Well, why not? I’d been on a handful of charter trips and had met “live aboards” and had always been fascinated…
Our first date went exceptionally well and even though we were about 80 miles apart, we were seeing each other multiple times per week. Fast forward to Covid and BAM we were together all the time! We also quickly discovered how much we enjoyed each other. Fast forward one dog (Nysha, the best dog ever!), two retirements and a beautiful wedding on the 4th anniversary of our first date and it was time to start the next chapter of our lives.
We placed the order for our catamaran, sold our house in Cheyenne, remodeled our family condo in Encinitas and traveled like crazy waiting for our boat to be finished.
